My name is Charles Kirk King, however, I prefer to go by Kirk. I am a Christian, then a husband and a father of three daughters, who graduated from Dixon High School. I joined the military right after I graduated and retired as an Army First Sergeant after 23 years of service. I utilized the Army Education system to obtain the following three degrees: an Associate Degree Electronic Engineering, a Bachelor Degree in History and a Masters Degree in Education. After retiring from the Army, I was hired by the Dixon School District to teach high school Social Studies. While teaching I drove two nights a week to MSU in Springfield to complete my fourth degree, a Masters in History so that I could teach Dual Credit classes to our high school students. I retired from teaching in 2024 after 18 years with the district. During my last four years of teaching I gave a great deal of thought and prayer to the decision to run for a seat on the Dixon R-1 School Board. My focus is to help and support our educators so that they can ensure the students of our district receive the best academic and all around education to prepare them for their future. I promise that every action I take, as a member of the school board, will be designed to benefit the students of the Dixon R-1 School District. I would be happy to discuss my philosophy and goals for our students with you and would appreciate your support by sharing this information with your friends and family in the district. Your vote is appreciated.
